HOLIDAYS
The holiday schedule for ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ University includes ten paid holidays and additional days off for the time between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day.
The University President has the discretion to declare Additional Days Off throughout the year. Employees in certain departments may be required to work on these Additional Days Off.

2024 HOLIDAY SCHEDULE: PART-TIME EMPLOYEES
All part-time employees are entitled to five (5) hours of holiday pay on Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, MLK Day and Easter Monday.

FLOATING HOLIDAY
One (1) floating holiday may be scheduled by an individual for a religious/cultural observation or for a special occasion not recognized on the official holiday schedule. This observance must be approved in advance with your supervisor in order to ensure no operational disruptions.
Full-time employees will observe the floating holiday in a full-day increment. 35-hour/week employees receive seven hours of floating holiday time per year, and 40-hour/week employees receive eight hours of floating holiday time per year.
Part-time employees will observe the floating holiday in a full-day increment; part-time employees receive five hours of floating holiday time per year.
All employees, part-time and full-time, will receive a floating holiday provided they are hired prior to December 1st. Employees hired on or after December 1st will not receive the floating holiday for that year.
HOLIDAY PROCEDURES
Employees in some departments may be required to work on a University holiday (not their floating holiday).
If a holiday falls on an employee's vacation or sick day, the day will not be charged to the employee's vacation or sick accruals.
In order to receive holiday pay, an employee must work their scheduled workdays before and after the holiday, unless such absence is occasioned by 1) previously scheduled and approved vacation time, or 2) illness or accident, in which case, the day the employee returns to work they shall furnish the University with a certificate from a licensed physician stating that the specific absence and length of such absence was due to an illness or accident.
Bargaining unit employees should consult their contract for a list of paid holidays.
