Hiring for ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥â€™s Future

Hiring new department members is an opportunity to secure and strengthen ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ University’s academic future. The University’s commitment to an inclusive learning environment begins when departments critically engage in questions about their own goals and objectives in the constantly changing landscape of higher education, which includes the issues of equity, inclusion, and diversity.

Employee Resource Groups

ODEI is home to Employee Resource Groups (ERG), sometimes referred to as affinity groups. ERGs are used to provide support and engagement to University employees. These groups may focus on specific interests or identities and offer a variety of experiences, but they are not closed groups, and they welcome supporters and allies. ERGs function as a structure within ODEI and work in coordination with Human Resources.

Affirmative Action

Human Resources coordinates the University-wide affirmative action and equal opportunity efforts for all administration, faculty and staff. The Associate Vice President of Human Resources monitors compliance with applicable laws and University policies and practices.

In addition, the HR Talent Acquisition team works with hiring departments to develop creative recruitment strategies, and provides information and technical assistance to departments in fulfilling their affirmative action responsibilities.

Additional responsibilities of this office include equitable hiring workshops, sexual harassment prevention training and preparation of the University's comprehensive Affirmative Action Plan.
