DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND COUNSELING
Ignite Change! Our programs in Education and Counseling combine theory with practical experience to prepare students to help improve the quality of the lives of others.
The Department of Education and Counseling deems itself distinctively positioned to help the College of Arts and Sciences meet its goals of “promoting intellectual curiosity, instilling the fundamentals of critical insight, mature judgment, and independent thinking, and awakening in its students a sense of the importance of values and the moral responsibility of caring for others.” We believe that these capacities are central to the preparation of teachers, administrators, counselors and every truly educated person. We seek to nurture these skills and dispositions in the students enrolled in each of our courses.
