PROSPECTIVE HONORS STUDENTS

The Honors Program invites academically gifted students into intellectual rigor through a distinctive curriculum taught in small seminar classes. Honors-programming includes community classes that offer an integrated sequence of themed courses, Core- and upper-division seminars, independent research and a capstone senior experience.

Each year, the Honors Program enrolls 140 to 150 students, a select group that comprises less than 10 percent of the total undergraduate student body. It is open to undergraduate students from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ School of Business, the College of Engineering and the M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing.

This community revolves around common intellectual experiences and extra- and co-curricular activities. It also provides a platform for outstanding faculty to bring forth innovative pedagogy and inquiry across disciplines and colleges.

The Honors Experience by College

While Honors students share classes with like-minded students from across disciplines, they also walk a distinct academic path through one of ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥'s four undergraduate colleges. Learn more about the college-specific Honors experience.

Applying to the Program

Students admitted to ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ University are considered for the Honors Program regardless of their application plan through the Common Application. There are no additional materials required for Honors evaluation apart from a complete application for undergraduate admission. An invitation to Honors will be extended to select students following the release of admission decisions.

Given the competitive applicant pool and the size of the Honors Program, we cannot accommodate all exceptional students.

All questions regarding the application process must be directed to the University's Office of Undergraduate Admissions by email or phone (610-519-4000).
