The University Scholarly Achievement Award
The University Scholarly Achievement Award will recognize excellence on the part of faculty for published research, scholarship, and/or creative expression. The awards will be given for accomplishments in the preceding three academic years. Recognition could be for a single distinguished achievement, or for a series of closely related works.
The award will include a framed certificate, $1000 cash award, and public recognition at an annual “Outstanding Scholars Dinner” and at the University graduation ceremony.
Eligibility for the Award
All full-time professors, including CNT, tenure-track, and tenured faculty, who have served at least three years at the University are eligible to be nominated. Works by research teams (two or more faculty) are also eligible for consideration. The team would be a single nomination and would share the award. Faculty can be eligible to win this award more than once. Faculty who have received the award cannot be nominated again until the third year following their award.
Nomination
An online nomination form will gather the following information: Nominator’s Name, Email, and Department/College, Nominee’s Name and Department/College, brief description of the achievement to be recognized, and a narrative describing why the nominator feels the nominee is an outstanding candidate for the award. The reviews are based solely on information and supporting materials included in the nomination form, so the nominator should include enough information for the selection committee to make their decision. Self-nominations are not accepted.
