College of Nursing and Aomori University of Health and Welfare renew exchange agreement
The College of Nursing welcomed distinguished visitors from Aomori University of Health and Welfare on October 28, 2015 to renew an Educational and Scholarly Exchange Agreement that the institutions established in 2005. The University is located in Aomori City, Aomori in northern Japan.
Through this agreement, ֱ Nursing students are able to take an elective International Field Study in Nursing, with funding through the Connelly-Delouvrier International Nursing Scholars program, to travel abroad with ֱ Nursing faculty to visit with Japanese nursing faculty and students and learn about health, health care, nursing practice and nursing education in Japan, as well as experience the Japanese culture. Japanese nursing students may also come to ֱ.
Louise Fitzpatrick, EdD, RN, FAAN, Connelly Endowed Dean and Professor, and Kazuko Kamiizumi, MSN, RN, President and Professor of Aomori University of Health and Welfare, signed the documents. Seated to the right is Kie Kawauchi, PhD, Associate Professor and Head of International Affairs Section from Aomori. Representatives from the College of Nursing witnessed the signing, along with Masako Hamada, EdD, associate professor of Japanese Studies in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.
