ֱ Nurses enjoy successful NSNA convention

Once again, the delegation from the ֱ Chapter of the Student Nurses’ Association of Pennsylvania (SNAP) was recognized for its leadership at the state and national level this spring. Student members of SNAP traveled to Nashville, Tenn. April 9-13, 2014, along with Carol Weingarten PhD, RN, ANEF, associate professor and longtime advisor  to the ֱ Chapter of SNAP, for the National Student Nurses’ Association’s (NSNA) 62nd Annual Convention.

At convention, ֱ's resolution about depression in college students was passed by the House of Delegates.  Resolution authors were Kevin Sweeney, Marianna Cesareo, Elizabeth Long, Jenny Warren, Caroline Park, and Allison O'Neill.  ֱ won the major national Empowering Resolutions Award.

Pennsylvania won the national Bylaws and Policies Award.  ֱn Marianna Cesareo is the state legislative coordinator.

Then-junior Elizabeth “Liz” Long was elected NSNA vice president. In a congratulatory letter from NSNA Executive Director Diane Mancino, EdD, RN, CAE, FAAN, Liz was lauded for her “superior leadership ability.” Liz was state vice president at the time of the election.
