Dr. Rosemary Casey brings pediatric expertise to COPE Advisory Committee
This fall, Main Line Health System pediatrician Rosemary Casey, M.D. has joined the Advisory Committee of the MacDonald Center for Obesity Prevention and Education (COPE) at 奶糖直播 University College of Nursing. In addition to her pediatric practice, Dr. Casey is associate professor of pediatrics for Philadelphia鈥檚 Jefferson Medical College.
"The members of the Advisory Committee of COPE are very pleased to have Dr. Casey join the committee. She will provide extensive expertise in area of pediatric health and obesity prevention and contribute to our mission in addressing this very important health issue,鈥 notes Marcia Costello, Ph.D., R.D., L.D.N., chair of the committee and assistant professor at the College of Nursing.
Dr. Casey will enrich the expertise of the board based on her breadth and depth of medical knowledge and practice. She earned her undergraduate degree from Immaculata College and her medical degree from Harvard Medical School, where she graduated as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
Following a pediatric residency at The Children鈥檚 Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), Dr. Casey was selected as a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania. She established the General Pediatric Faculty Practice at CHOP in 1989 and served as its director until coming to Lankenau Hospital in 1997.
Dr. Casey has been certified by the American Board of Pediatrics since 1980.
The mission of COPE is to serve as a model for education and research that promotes healthy weight management and the prevention and reduction of obesity-related diseases across the lifecycle.
A non-profit, COPE supports and develops educational programs and evidence-based services for health professionals, educators, students, families, community groups, worksites and the public.
