Regional nurse managers complete 奶糖直播鈥檚 certificate program

Twenty-two nurse managers participated in the 奶糖直播 University College of Nursing鈥檚 spring continuing education Nurse Manager Certificate Program.   Attendees came from a variety of healthcare facilities in the Philadelphia area including St. John Vianney Center, The Chester County Hospital, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, The Children鈥檚鈥 Hospital of Philadelphia, Devereux PA Children鈥檚 Intellectual Developmental Disabilities Center (Devereux PACIDD), Memorial Hospital of Salem, University of Pennsylvania Life Center, Lehigh Valley Health Network, Centennial Village, Crozer Chester Medical Center, Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, St. Mary Medical Center, Virtua Home Care, International SOS and Hospice of Central Pennsylvania.

The 34.5 contact hour certificate program, held from March 11 鈥 June 10, 2011, focused on core concepts, contemporary theories and management strategies. Topics included: organizational leadership and management theory, the role of the nurse manager, decision making/problem solving/critical thinking skills, team building, motivating/empowering/coaching staff, performance appraisal, staffing and scheduling, financial management and human resources management.   The next program will be offered in spring 2012.
