Dr. Ricaurte Vásquez Morales ’73 CLAS as 2022 Ward Lecturer
On February 18, 2022, Engineers’ Week will begin with the annual Patrick J. Cunningham, Jr. and Susan Ward '80 Endowed Lecture Series in Engineering. This year’s lecturer Dr. Ricaurte Vásquez Morales ’73 CLAS, Administrator of the Panama Canal Authority. Dr. Vásquez’s presentation to the ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ community will be on the topic of “Global Change and The Panama Canal.”
ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ Urban Stormwater Partnership Hosts 2022 Symposium
More than 350 engineers, researchers, planners and other water-resources professionals gathered on ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥’s campus Oct. 12 and 13 for the 2022 Pennsylvania Stormwater Management Symposium. The biennial symposium aims to promote green stormwater infrastructure to combat urban flooding and protect environmental quality.

ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ Receives $1 Million Gift from L3Harris Technologies to Support CEER Project
In recognition of this gift, the College of Engineering’s new Heterogeneous Autonomous Vehicle Laboratory (HAVLab) will be named the L3Harris Technologies HAVLab. Since 2013, L3Harris has now contributed more than $2.5 million to ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥’s College of Engineering.
Dr. Kristin Sample-Lord Receives Prestigious NSF CAREER Award
The five-year, $510,000 grant will allow the assistant professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering to advance research in water security and environmental protection, while preparing future science, technology, engineering and mathematics professionals.
