The strength of the ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ experience comes in part from the University's welcoming community. We've gathered useful information here to help our newest members get acclimated ahead of New Student Orientation.

New Student Orientation 2024 begins with Move-In Day on Wednesday, Aug. 20. On Thursday, Aug. 21, students, parents and families participate in activities designed to acclimate them to ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥'s campus and forge relationships with peers. After the Family Picnic on Thursday evening, parents and families will depart campus. New Student-only programming will continue from 6:30 p.m. on Thursday through the start of classes on Monday, Aug. 25.

Philadelphia Skyline

Looking for hotels, restaurants, shopping and more? ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ is approximately 12 miles outside of Philadelphia—home of Benjamin Franklin and the City of Brotherly Love. There are many exciting and educational attractions in Philadelphia and we highlight just a few of the many fun things to do in Philly.

Nova Guides is the official ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ University app for special events, such as New Student Orientation and Commencement, and places important information right at your fingertips. With a simple download, you’ll gain access to the latest schedules, maps and other relevant information intended to help you get the most out of your time with us. Our Nova Guide for Orientation 2025 will become available in Summer 2025.

Before arriving in August, you will receive many mailings from ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥. We'll provide you the opportunity to access some of the various resources pertaining to new students and parents but particularly those pertaining to Orientation.

For a comprehensive list of our resources specifically designed for parents and families, please visit our Family and Parents website.

Since Move-In Day can be a long and tiring day, many families make plans to stay overnight on Move-In Day. For your convenience, you can find a list of area hotels on the Visit ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ section of the Family and Parents website.

New Student Orientation will take place rain or shine!

The weather in our region can be hot and humid in August, and we encourage students and families to dress casually. You will be walking around campus and should bring whatever you may need to feel comfortable!
