About Self-Study 2020-21
The purpose of ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ University's Middle States Self-Study is to demonstrate compliance with and identify strengths and opportunities for improvement in relation to its mission and goals. The University's Self-Study Design identifies ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥â€™s goals for the process, its close connection to our Mission and Strategic Plan, and the research questions to be explored throughout. The is available for ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ students, faculty, and staff to read.
The self-study was completed by seven working groups consisting of over 140 ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ students, faculty, and staff, led by a 25-member Steering Committee who, together, carefully examined how well ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ educational programs and services, with particular attention to student learning and achievement, accomplish the University's goals, fulfill our Mission, and meet the Commission's Standards.
The self-study process concludes with a thorough appraisal of the University by peers from institutions similar to ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥. These peer evaluators read the self-study report and conduct a team visit to assess whether the University meets the MSCHE Requirements for Affiliation & Standards for Accreditation. This visit will take place on September 26-29, 2021. The visiting team may offer offering recommendations for improvement or requirements if non-compliance is indicated. They may also identify significant accomplishments, progress, or exemplary or innovative practices for each standard. Ultimately, the Commission's Committee on Evaluation reviews all of the discussions and reports above and comes to a decision on whether to reaffirm ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ University's accreditation status.
