Matt is a Professor of Practice in the Department of Management and Operations and The David Grenon Family Faculty Director for the Center for Church Management in the ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ University School of Business. In addition to overseeing the Center for Church Management, he teaches both undergraduate and graduate students in Organizational Management; Leadership Ethics and Catholic Social Thought; Team Leadership and Group Dynamics; and Pastoral Strategic Planning.
Prior to joining ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥, Matt was a Strategic Business Unit Director for the Franklin Mint and was responsible for a $100 million line of diecast collectible cars. He also spent 18 years with the Catholic Leadership Institute and served as President and CEO for 13 years, growing it from a local all-volunteer organization with $15,000 a year in revenue to an international leadership training and consulting organization with 26 full-time employees and $6.1 million in annual revenues.
Matt has a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and an MS in Church Management from ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥. He and his wife, Kerri, live outside of Philadelphia and have three children. In his free time, Matt enjoys running and has completed 8 marathons and an Ironman triathlon.

Chesley Turner joined the Center for Church Management team in the summer of 2019, after earning her Masters in Church Management and the Bartley Medallion in May 2019. Chesley has a wide range of both church and corporate work experience, having served as the first lay director of the National Shrine of Saint Rita of Cascia from June 2017 to August 2019. She boasts a decade of experience in corporate marketing for business and leisure travel companies in the Philadelphia area and supplemented her career with a year of service as an Augustinian Volunteer teaching pre-school in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Chesley graduated from ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ University in 2005 with a Bachelor’s in Art History and Honors. She lives in Philadelphia, where she is very active at her parish, Saint Augustine Church in Old City, singing for Masses, weddings and special liturgies.

Matt is a South Jersey native and a recent ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ alum, graduating in 2021 with a Master’s Degree in Church Management. His professional background includes both pastoral ministry and church administration. His work background began with almost a decade of teaching English to immigrants and refugees and helping them find employment, including doing work with Catholic Charities and Jewish Vocational Services. He then spent two amazing years in the Dominican Republic with the Jesuits, learning Spanish and doing various ministries with the local Church. Upon returning to the East Coast, Matt worked for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia twice, as the Director of the Office for Pastoral Care for Migrants and Refugees and the Office for Ministry with Young Adults. He has also worked in the Office for Life & Justice in the Diocese of Camden.
In addition to having received his Master’s Degree from ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥, Matt received his BA in Religious Studies from Washington University in St. Louis. He and his wife, Katy, live outside of Philadelphia with their two sons. He enjoys soccer, football, riding bikes, and travelling internationally.
