NOVA NATION

Helping Hands

A day devoted to putting the Augustinian mission into action, St. Thomas ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ Day of Service offers an opportunity each fall for ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ns to work in partnership with communities both near campus and nationwide. To honor the University’s patron and namesake, University President the Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, ’75 CLAS established this annual event in 2006, which builds upon St. Thomas’ legacy of charity to the poor and marginalized.

More than 5,000 students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ joined together this September to make a difference both locally—at nonprofit organizations like The Joy of Sox, Riverbend Environmental Education Center and the Philadelphia Furniture Bank—and in cities across the country through the many alumni groups that provided hands-on help for this 18th annual call to service.
