Mediasite and Video Delivery

Mediasite is a video recording and delivery platform available to all ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ faculty, staff, and students. It can be used to record classroom lectures, student projects, special events, and training sessions. The content can then be shared on Blackboard course page or with select people.

Mediasite serves three critical functions at ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥:

By default, recordings upload in "Private" mode to the account of the creator and are not automatically public to other staff and students. Recordings can only be released at the creator's discretion and only this creator has access to these recordings.

Mosaic, Mediasite's desktop lecture capture tool, allows you to record presentations consisting of audio/video, slides, and/or computer programs. Many faculty who teach class in a hybrid or flipped classroom find it helpful to use Mosaic to create supplemental videos for their students as needed.

We strongly discourage uploading video files directly to Blackboard or to share videos on Blackboard via Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, personal email, etc.

You should upload videos to your  account for distribution. This will improve the viewer experience by reducing the bandwidth needed to view the videos and making it easier for people using mobile devices or slower connections to view your content optimally.

  •  (***note, Mediasite only allows T/F and MCQ at this time)

Use the Mediasite Editor to add finishing touches to your presentation ― trim the beginning or end, remove unwanted content, add chapters, etc. After completing your edits, you can save your edited video to the original presentation or create a brand new one.

For the best experience when editing presentations, Mediasite recommends your device meet the following requirements:
