Accreditation
ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ University M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC).
ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ University Fitzpatrick College of Nursing awards contact hours (an acceptable counterpart for CEUs) for eligible continuing professional development activities. In CNE, the contact hour is the only appropriate unit of educational credit offered by providers that are accredited by ANCC. The contact hour is considered the gold standard for CNE. One CEU equals 10 contact hours of participation in organized continuing education under responsible, qualified direction and instruction.
Requirements for Completion
ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ University will award contact hours for successful completion of all continuing education activities. In keeping with ANCC revised guidelines, a contact hour is a measurement that denotes 60 minutes of organized learning.
To receive continuing professional development credit, participants must complete all course requirements including program evaluations. Contact hours will be awarded based on attendance.Â
For online activities, participants are required to review entire program, complete all additional activities, and submit an evaluation form.
For conferences, individuals can participate in some or all of the program. Participants are asked for a signed attestation statement on the conference evaluation form as to the sessions attended.
For webinars, participants must attend the full (one hour) session and complete the evaluation form.
Disclosures
Conflicts of Interest - All continuing education activities will be free from bias. Learners will be informed of any influencing financial, personal or professional relationships or lack thereof for all planners and presenters and/or their family members. ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ University Fitzpatrick College of Nursing has procedures in place to resolve conflicts as appropriate. Any commercial support or sponsorship for educational activities will be disclosed to learners. Standards for Disclosures and Commercial support in ANCC Accreditation Application manual 2020 will be followed. ANCC's guidelines for ensuring content integrity of continuing professional development activities will be followed.
Non-endorsement - Accredited status does not imply endorsement by ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ University or ANCC of any commercial products displayed or used with an activity.
Commercial Support - Information related to any commercial support or sponsorship that is received for continuing professional development activities will be provided in the appropriate course / conference materials.
Confirmation
A confirmation email will be sent one week prior to the course. Location, travel directions and parking instructions will be included.
Cancellations
ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ reserves the right to cancel any course when enrollment quotas have not been met. In such cases all fees are refunded. An applicant who withdraws from a course prior to the first class may receive a refund of fees minus a $25 processing fee, unless otherwise noted in promotional materials. No refunds are given after a course is in progress. In rare instances, ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ reserves the right to substitute faculty.
