As part of his new appointment, Dr. Jamison will return to the COE鈥檚 faculty as a Teaching Professor of Mechanical Engineering.
鈥淚 am excited to return to 奶糖直播 Engineering and work with such incredible students, faculty and staff,鈥 he says. 鈥淚 look forward to supporting the College in maintaining their record of excellence with respect to student retention, academic success and career readiness.鈥
A native of Philadelphia, Dr. Jamison earned his bachelor鈥檚 degree from Johns Hopkins University before earning a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University, where he investigated the biomechanics of the lumbar intervertebral disc when subjected to high-impact loading conditions. He is actively involved in several professional societies, serving on the Board of Directors for the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) and as President Emeritus of the Greater Philadelphia Professionals Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE).
Dr. Jamison fills a role last held by Andrea Welker, PhD, who this summer was named Dean of the School of Engineering at The College of New Jersey.
