Office of the Vice President and General Counsel
The Office of the Vice President and General Counsel is responsible for all legal matters affecting the University. Among their responsibilities, the University’s attorneys monitor federal and state legislation to ensure the University is in compliance with its legal obligations; assist in formulating and implementing institutional strategies to avoid future legal problems; oversee litigation involving the University; review contracts between the University and outside vendors or agencies; coordinate the response to subpoenas and other requests for information; review proposed policies and procedures; and handle zoning, tax and other issues relating to the University’s real estate holdings.
Should you receive any legal document or notice relating to University business (such as a subpoena, a complaint, a hearing notice or any document or notice relating to a legal proceeding), please forward the document to our office immediately.
