Dr. Fauzia Ahmad Tapped for Signal Processing Expertise
Dr. Fauzia Ahmad
Research Professor Fauzia Ahmad, PhD, Director of the Radar Imaging Laboratory at ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ University’s Center for Advanced Communications (CAC), has been appointed an associate editor of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Transactions on Signal Processing. This leading international journal is the premiere forum in which signal processing experts publish and access research material of the highest quality. In this role, Dr. Ahmad will be responsible for the publication’s peer review process for submitted papers in all aspects of the theory and practice of radar signal processing, array signal processing, and compressive sensing.
Dr. Ahmad has also been elected to the radar systems panel of the IEEE Aerospace and Electronics Systems Society. The panel is composed of IEEE members who represent industry, government, educational institutions and professional societies, and who are highly experienced and active in the radar domain. Members meet biannually to evaluate and determine a course of action related to radar conferences, publications, education and standards.
A senior member of the IEEE and the International Society of Optics and Photonics (SPIE), Dr. Ahmad also chairs the annual SPIE Compressive Sensing Conference and serves on the editorial boards of IET Radar, Sonar & Navigation and the Journal of Electronic Imaging. She has authored more than 150 journal articles, book chapters and peer-reviewed conference papers on a wide range of signal processing topics.
