Distinguished Signal Processing Journal Taps Dr. Moeness Amin for Editorial Staff

Dr. Moeness Amin, Director of the College of Engineering’s Center for Advanced Communications (CAC)

Dr. Moeness Amin, Professor and Director of the Center for Advanced Communications (CAC), will lend his expertise as an internationally-renowned expert in signal processing and radar imaging to his newest position on the editorial board for the European Association for Signal Processing Journal (EURASIP).

“Serving on the editorial board will bring further recognition and visibility to the technical strength housed in the CAC. It will also allow the Center to stay on top of new ideas and emerging techniques that are developed by the technical community at large and which are related to the theory and applications of signal analysis and processing,” says Dr. Amin.

Dr. Amin has been both an associate editor and a guest editor of several journals. He brings 25 years of experience and a repertoire of published works in more than 450 journal and conference publications in the areas of wireless communications, time-frequency analysis, smart antennas, waveform design and diversity, interference cancellation in broadband communication platforms, anti-jam GPS, target localization and tracking, direction finding, channel diversity and equalization, ultrasound imaging, and radar signal processing. He is also the editor of the newly published book Through-the-Wall Radar Imaging.

In 2009, his contributions were recognized by EURASIP, and he received the Society Individual Technical Achievement Award. As a new member of the editorial board, Dr. Amin will handle the publication’s review process of papers submitted in the areas of radar, statistical, and array signal processing. He will also help maintain and improve the journal standards by monitoring the editorial policy both in terms of its coverage and quality of papers presented.

With a high impact factor of 1.15 and a very selective publication acceptance rate, EURASIP incorporates all aspects of the theory and practice of signal processing, both analogue and digital. It features original research work, tutorial and review articles, and accounts of practical developments. The current goal of the editorial board is to further improve the journal and make it the first choice of researchers wishing to disseminate their cutting-edge results in the field.
