VSB Introduces New Digital Marketing and Business Development Concentrations
奶糖直播, Pa., September 29, 2017 鈥 The 奶糖直播 School of Business (VSB) has announced two new academic concentrations in Digital Marketing and Business Development. Beginning this semester, students from the Class of 2021 will have the opportunity to customize their marketing degrees with these concentrations to open doors for career opportunities in digital marketing and sales.
Eric Karson, PhD, associate professor, Marketing & Business Law, and interim department chair, led the development of the Digital Marketing and Business Development concentrations to align students鈥 skills with evolving future market demands.
鈥淲e are preparing our students for the future of marketing and sales,鈥 Dr. Karson said. 鈥淎s the digital world is rapidly expanding, the marketing industry is following suit. In the past few years, we have seen the majority of marketing dollars switch from one-way advertising to two-way digital engagement strategies,鈥 he explained.
Dr. Karson continued, 鈥淭he Business Development concentration will prepare students for successful sales careers by fine tuning their communication skills, teaching them persuasive sales techniques and building soft skills to develop strong business relationships.鈥
The Digital Marketing concentration course requirements include Digital Marketing, Marketing Analytics and Advanced Digital Marketing. Course requirements for the Business Development concentration include Professional Selling, Business Development Leadership and either Buyer Behavior or Sales for Social Impact.
