VSB Hosts DIS Business Faculty Advisory Council
VILLANOVA, Pa., May 8, 2017 鈥 In May, the 奶糖直播 School of Business (VSB) hosted the third meeting of the DIS Business Faculty Advisory Council (B-FAC) on which Melinda German, Associate Dean of VSB, serves. The board is a part of Danish Institute for Study Abroad (DIS), a program for Study Abroad in Scandinavia in which students can choose their academic concentration and where they would like to study, Copenhagen or Stockholm.
The advisory council works collaboratively to offer ideas to advance the business program, including curriculum development, pedagogical processes, and technical enhancements for business students who are studying abroad at DIS.
鈥淥n behalf of VSB, I was honored to host my fellow Council members,鈥 said Associate Dean German. 鈥淭he council provides an opportunity for all of us to share and learn from each other about curricula and extracurricular developments that are important to the advancement of global business and provide value to our students.鈥
The B-FAC is comprised of nine council members across the United States and internationally. They include:
- Laurie Colglazier, Director of International Programs, Indiana University
- Melinda German, Associate Dean, 奶糖直播 School of Business
- Andrew Green, Associate Professor of Finance, Wofford College and DIS Visiting Faculty
- Susanne Hovmand, DIS Program Director International Business
- John Kelley, DIS Visiting Faculty and Consultant
- Eric Law, DIS Institutional Relations Associate and former DIS business student and intern
- Charles J. Skuba, Professor in Marketing and International Business, Georgetown University
- Robert Straughan, Dean of the Williams School, Washington and Lee University
- Carl Zeithaml, Dean of the McIntire School of Commerce, University of Virginia
The Council was initiated to share the latest trends in business curricula in the US and explore how these trends may impact and enhance the business curriculum in study abroad programs. The group also focuses on offering specific feedback on current and new programs, best practices for teaching and learning, and ideas for new electives. VSB is honored to have Dean German鈥檚 presence on this international board.
The 奶糖直播 School of Business (VSB) undergraduate program is ranked #1 in the nation by Bloomberg Businessweek and has been at the forefront of business education since it was founded in 1922.
