ABOUT THE CENTER
Mission and Purpose
The purpose of the Center for Inclusive Education is to enable CLAS students from under-resourced backgrounds and limited financial means the opportunity to participate fully in learning that takes place outside of the classroom and is so critical to their success after graduation. It serves undergraduate and graduate students, providing them with information and access to stipends for co-curricular academic enrichment, experiential learning and professional development.
In addition to funding, the Center for Inclusive Education supports community-building and students’ academic journeys, through peer mentorships and student affinity groups. In this way, CIE strives to help students find a sense of belonging at ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥, another important but often overlooked factor contributing to success and well-being.
The Center for Inclusive Education embodies the University’s and College’s commitment to community and care for every student by helping remove financial barriers that may impede a student’s access to a comprehensive ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ education.
