WIRELESS AND COMMUNICATIONS POSITIONING LABORATORY
The Wireless Communications and Positioning Lab (WCPL) performs research and development activities in the broad areas of statistical and array signal processing for wireless communications and networking, localization, and navigation.
WCPL facilities provide coherent data generation and collection capabilities for a wide spectrum of multi-channel digital and analog radio frequency signals combined with analyses and signal syntheses tools needed for wireless connectivity, cellular telephony, and GPS/GNSS technologies. The WCPL also allows testing of various techniques for wireless localization and navigation, using multiple-antenna transmitters and receivers.
The Wireless Communications and Positioning Lab has conducted several projects related to wireless network connectivity for urban sensing, optimization of network resource allocation, multiuser cooperative diversity systems, array beamforming for wideband telemetry digital communications, array processing for interference/jammer suppression in GPS/GNSS receivers, orphan meter detection and localization, space-time coding for wireless communications, applications of smart antennas to rotorcrafts, and indoor wireless channel modeling and equalization.
