Spring 2023 marked the 40th straight semester in which ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ student-athletes have earned a grade point average above 3.0–a remarkable 20-year streak. This milestone comes on the heels of the announcement in fall 2022 that ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ had set a new program record with a 99 percent NCAA Graduation Success Rate for 2012–2015.
The GSR data point measures the percentage of student-athletes who entered college on institutional aid (athletics-based or otherwise) during that period and graduated within six years. ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ has the highest GSR among all BIG EAST programs and is one of only five schools nationally to have an overall score of 99 percent or higher.
Seven Wildcat student-athletes qualified for the NCAA Division I Track and Field National Championships in June in Austin, Texas. ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ Track and Field athletes stood out on the national stage, with two jumpers coming home with particularly high honors.
Malik Cunningham ’23 MA tallied the best finish by a member of the ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ Men’s team in a jumping event since 1979. He placed seventh in the triple jump, earning first team All-America honors. Junior Roschell Clayton (pictured above) was named second team All-American when she tied for 14th place at the meet in the high jump.
