Student ResearchÂ
Undergraduate and masters students may not act as a principal investigator, however this does not prevent a student from conducting research with a faculty member or for a student project. It is important that all researchers on campus conduct their research ethically and with their participants' best interests in mind.
These additional resources are topics for students to consider when drafting their research procedures.
Students must complete all application requirements before being added to an active IRB protocol. Students may sign up on CITI with their ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ email. FCOI disclosures require permission from COI@villanova.edu to access Cayuse Outside Interests.
Most student research projects are completed only for course requirements and are considered, "Not Human Subjects Research," because class projects are not generalizable. Below are resources describing the regulatory requirements for IRB review and the application ORP provides for professors that wish to incorporate research ethics or IRB procedures into their teaching plan.

Undergraduate students and masters students may not act as principal investigators but they may be involved on active IRB protocols. Students are required to be listed on IRB applications if they meet the definiton of "engaged." If students are on research protocols, they must be up to date on training and FCOI requirements. Below are resources available to researchers that include students on their research protocols.
