Office of Research Protections
The Office of Research Protections partners with researchers to ensure that all ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ scientific research involving human participants, vertebrate animals and biohazards is safe, ethically sound and compliant with all applicable federal, state and local regulations and University policies. It also offers guidance to researchers and oversees the review process related to financial conflicts of interest in research.
The Office provides the necessary research-related support—including workshops, training and compliance assistance—to faculty, scientists, staff and students engaged in research at ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥.
Our team works closely with and provides administrative support to the various presidential committees that approve research at ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ and the institutional officials with responsibility for such research. Each committee is comprised of members of the faculty and community representatives as mandated by federal regulations.
The Office’s responsibilities are strongly aligned with the University’s mission of excellence and distinction in the discovery, dissemination and application of knowledge, and its commitments to moral reflection and respect.
