In this Year of the Nurse Educator, the Fitzpatrick College of Nursing is proud to feature faculty and why they do what they do.
Angelina Arcamone, PhD, RN, is Clinical Assistant Professor, and former Assistant Dean for the Undergraduate Program
Why did you seek this role?
Even before going to nursing school, my heart was always set on being a teacher. Once I completed my nursing education, as a clinical nurse, my greatest joy was working with the nursing students when they were on the unit.
What do you like about your role?
Being a nursing educator is very satisfying because I get to see the students that I have taught go on to be successful in their nursing careers either as clinical nurses or nursing educators.
Best moment as an educator?
My best moment as an educator was when I received the Excellence in Nursing Education award by the Alpha Nu Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
Bonus brilliance?
Nurse educators inspire students to be the best they can be and instill confidence so that they can achieve excellence in practice, education and research!
