Professional Journal Appoints Dr. Fauzia Ahmad Associate Editor

Research Professor Fauzia Ahmad, PhD, director of the Radar Imaging Laboratory at ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ University’s Center for Advanced Communications (CAC), has been appointed an associate editor of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters. This leading international journal publishes short papers addressing new ideas and formative concepts in remote sensing applications. In this role, Dr. Ahmad will be responsible for the publication’s peer review process for submitted papers in all aspects of the theory and practice of radar imaging, synthetic aperture radar, through-the-wall radar imaging and compressive sensing.  In 2014 Dr. Ahmad was named an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, the leading international journal for signal processing experts. She also serves on the editorial boards of IET Radar, Sonar & Navigation, and the Journal of Electronic Imaging.

In addition to these editorial appointments, Dr. Ahmad holds a number of positions within industry associations. Last year she was elected to the radar systems panel of the IEEE Aerospace and Electronics Systems Society, and since 2012 has chaired the annual Compressive Sensing Conference of the International Society of Optics and Photonics (SPIE) of which she is a senior member. Dr. Ahmad has authored more than 170 journal articles, book chapters and peer-reviewed conference papers on a wide range of signal processing topics.
