RESIDENCE HALL STUDENT STAFF OPPORTUNITIES

A resident assistant helps with move-in.

Residence Life is always seeking dedicated undergraduate and graduate student leaders with a passion for helping others and building community to serve a Resident Assistants, Head Resident Assistants and Graduate Resident Directors.

RESIDENT ASSISTANT

The foundation of our residence hall program is the RA position. RAs are a community of student leaders dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our residential students.

RAs are undergraduate and graduate students available to assist with personal issues, academic needs, housing questions, facilities concerns and more. RAs provide leadership and guidance for residents, plan events, provide opportunities to meet new people and learn new things, and hold periodic meetings to share information and review community policies. Residence Life houses RAs in every on-campus residence hall.

Read the Resident Assistant job description.

RAs at ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ are sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students who demonstrate exceptional leadership and interpersonal, organizational, and decision-making skills.

To receive full consideration for an RA position, applicants must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA and be in good disciplinary standing. Because of the academic demands of the Law School, first year Law students are generally discouraged from applying.

RAs return to campus a week before students arrive in August to receive intensive training in conflict resolution, crisis management, leadership, programming, counseling, and more. The experience of being a leader and mentor among peers in the halls is the most rewarding benefit of the position.

RAs in the traditional residence halls receive a waiver of room charges and a 21 meal plan. Resident Assistants in the apartments receive a waiver of room charges and a 100 Flex meal plan.
