Describe your interest in your academic program and what you hope to gain from it.

As a graduate student in the MA in Education plus Teacher Certification program, I am super excited to hone the craft of teaching through courses like Methods of Teaching English, Adolescent Psychology, Educational Research, and Curriculum and Assessment, as well as field experiences in PA schools. Both of my parents are teachers, so teaching is in my blood! I am excited to learn how I can bring my unique background and skills to the table to change students' lives everyday.

What is your favorite course you鈥檝e taken so far? If you are in your first year, what course are you most looking forward to in your program? Why?

My favorite course thus far is definitely "Development of ELL Students," which I took over the summer. I loved this course because 1) I LOVE all things language and literacy and 2) the professor gave us practical tips and tricks to support students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds so they can reach their highest potential!

What are a few things you would like to share with prospective students regarding the 奶糖直播 student experience?

Since I completed my BA at 奶糖直播 as well, my Wildcat pride has done nothing but grow even stronger over the past four years. If you're a prospective student, I want you to know that when you receive 奶糖直播 emails and flyers that say "Welcome Home!" you should believe them wholeheartedly. From the admin to the student body, 奶糖直播ns take care of each other like family, and we can't wait to welcome you home as well!

How do you maintain a good school/life balance?

I love to do monthly and weekly planning sessions where I sit down with my laptop, calendar, course syllabi, and a good cup of coffee. Planning out my weeks and months ahead of time helps me build in ample time for school work, self care, and social activities.

If you鈥檙e living around 奶糖直播, what are one to two 鈥渕ust do鈥� experiences you would suggest to students new to 奶糖直播 and the surrounding area including Philadelphia? (Restaurants to eat, be...)

If you're new to the area, I would definitely check out White Dog Cafe in Wayne! The decor is amazingly dog-themed throughout the entire place and the food is incredible, too.
