STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS
As part of ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥'s commitment to the health and well-being of its community, the University works to ensure that our students have access to quality health insurance.
ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ offers a University-sponsored health insurance plan through United Healthcare. Students must take action to either enroll in or waive the University sponsored plan during specific enrollment windows. It is not possible to join or waive the University-sponsored plan after those dates.
Open enrollment deadline is early September for annual coverage, and late January for spring/summer coverage. Please check policy information for exact deadlines. Your insurance must be effective on or before the start of classes for the Fall semester to qualify for an annual waiver from the University-sponsored insurance plan.
Health insurance is mandatory for all undergraduate matriculated students, all international students, and law school students.
To qualify for the waiver, a student must be covered by a comprehensive Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliant health insurance plan. Insurance plans that do not meet those requirements, including, but not limited to, international insurance plans, out of state Medicaid plans, travel insurance plans, and short-term medical plans, will not be considered.
Please see below for specific guidelines for students and policy information for the ÄÌÌÇÖ±²¥ University-sponsored plan. For additional questions, contact the Student Health Center at studenthealthcenter@villanova.edu or call 610-519-4070.
